THANKSGIVING & INTERCESSIONS

"He that abideth in me and I in him, the same beareth much fruit for apart from me ye can do nothing… If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatsoever ye will and it shall be done unto you.”

O God, who dost bid thy Church arise and shine that nations may come to its light and kings to the brightness of its rising: Grant to the Sisters of the Epiphany, the Brotherhood of St. Paul, the Sisters of the Christa Sevika Sangha and thc Administrator the strength and guidance of the Holy Spirit, that their prayers and labours may lead many souls to the clear light of thy truth, in the glorious fellowship of thy universal Church; through Jesus Christ, thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, God throughout all ages. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE WORK AT HOME
Gracious Father, we pray thee to bless the Oxford Mission and to prosper our ef forts on its behalf. Grant that we may take our share in the work by our prayers, our service and our gifts, and fill us with the spirit of self-sacrifice for the sake of him who suffered and died for us, thy Son, our Savious Jesus Christ. Amen.

MONDAY

1. CALCUTTA DIOCESE

Give thanks for: - The ministry of Bishop P.S.P. Raju For his love and support for the work of the Oxford Mission in Kolkata. For his chairmanship of Oxford Mission Trust Association, and care for the O.M.'s future.
Pray for: - The ministry of the Christian Church in Kolkala. For priests, teachers, medical workers and all who are helping to alleviate poverty, ignorance and disease in the city.

2. DHAKA DIOCESE AND KUSHTIA DIOCESE

Give thanks for: - The ministry of the Rt Revd M.S. Baroi, Moderator and Bishop of Dhaka, and of the Revd. Paul Shishir Sarkar, Bishop of Kushtia. For the Government’s commitment to curb religious extremism, and for police presence over Christmas at Bollobhpur.
Pray for: - Victims of terrorism and religious intolerance. For improvement in the economic situation. For blessing on Sister Gillian and her nurses at Bollobhpur and the village clinics they run. For a doctor for Bollobhpur Hospital

TUESDAY – THE COMMUNITY AT JOBARPAR

Give thanks for: - The medical work and Social Development Programmes of the Church of Bangladesh. For the beauty of our flower gardens, and our gardeners and workers. For the simple faithfulness of our village people, and the keenness of Youth Groups and their leaders. For the relief and rehabilitation work of the Church.
Pray for: - The Church of Bangladesh, our Bishops, Clergy, Reader, Catechists, Parish workers and women's groups. For our institutions at Jobarpar – St. Gabriel's Primary School, our Play Group and our Hostels. For our staff and managers. For the Medical Centre and village clinics. For Nurse Asha who recently joined the medical staff, and all Doctors especially Dr. Jacqui Hossain, Dr Pijush Das and Dr Ashim Halder. For our Communities -Christa Sevika Sangha, and St Mary’s Haluaghat. May we be faithful to our Vows.

WEDNESDAY - THE COMMUNITY AT BARISAL

Give thanks for: - Students in the High School and Hostel, who have been successful in their examinations. For the completion of essential building work on the Church, and a new wall.
Pray for: - New aspirants to the Brotherhood of St. Paul, and blessing on the Students' Prayer fellowship. For the O.M. High School and Primary School, and St. Mary’s Night School. For more trained staff for St. Anne's Medical Centre. For a solution to problems wlth land, buildings and property. For our fish, cows and poultry. For the sick, elderly and dying.

THURSDAY – THE COMMUNITY AT BEHALA

Give thanks for: - Blessing on the Christmas and Epiphany celebrations, the Sports Day and Republic Day, and on the boys' musical activities fill happy visits by Lilias Redpath, Caroline and Norman McDowal1 and Paul Harrison. For kind gifts to Sister Florence's fund.
Pray for: - Arijeet Roy, for the staff and pupils at St. Joseph’s Primary School, the O.M. English-medium Primary School, and the Hostels, and for the Clinic Doctors. For the little boys in Sc Nicholas's Home. For the life of Sister Florence and her love of and commitment to the O.M. in Behala and the community within which she worked.

FRIDAY - HOME (UK)

Give thanks for: - The life of Roger Radice, and his love of and commitment to the O.M. and especially its music: may he rest in peace. For the friendly gathering to commemorate Fred Pinn's life, and his work for and devotion to the O.M.
Pray for: - Blessing on the Annual Festival Service and Meeting, and the visit to the UK of Arijeet Roy and his wife. For John Corrie and Mary Marsh who will visit the Communities in the winter. For grace and wisdom for members of the UK Committee at their twice-yearly meetings.
