Retired? and Lenten Lunches
The one thing a member of a Religious Community never does is to retire! No matter what their age, insofar as they are able they are present at daily worship and are engaged in profitable employment. In my case, I attend the services in Chapel throughout the day, and I continue to work in the Sewing Room - mending Sisters’ Habits, and any other sewing jobs that come my way. Happily, new Habits are now being made by outside help. Recently I received a copy of a book entitled ‘1,000 Unforgettable Senior Moments’, by Tom...uh...Friedman, published by Workman Publishing, New York. I highly recommend it to those of my own age group who are prepared to laugh at, and not be downcast by, their own Senior Moments.
